XAVIER, HOPE IN JUNIORS FINALS
Xavier School ousted St. Jude Catholic School, 89-71, and Hope Christian High School outlasted Chiang Kai Shek College with a 91-86 double overtime decision to arrange a best-of-three Finals in the Juniors Division.
Jeron Teng, the Freego Player of the Game, collected 32 points, 14 rebounds and six assists as Xavier led from start to finish.
Donal Ong had five threes and 22 points to win Burlington 3-point Shootout award.
Entering the Finals, the Golden Stallions own a 32-game winning streak over four seasons.
Jason Ligad topscored for SJCS with 29 markers.
Hope Christian, which reached the Finals for the first time since 1993, got 21 points from Janrey Garrido, 20 from Jessiery Pedrosa and 19 points and 14 boards from King Benemerito, who was named Freego Player of the Game.
CKSC had four scorers in twin digits – Arvin Faustino, 20 points; Paul Aduana, 20; Carlo Young, 19; and Cyril Mopas, 11.
Garrido had three treys to romp away with the Burlington 3-point Shootout award.
